Billie Sue Dumont-Oliver, Learning Resource Manager for Delta College’s Business and Technology division, shares how she supports the skilled trades program—including welding, HVAC, and CNC—by managing labs and resources. Inspired by student growth and the reward of solving problems, she implemented FMX to establish a much-needed preventative and asset maintenance program for lab equipment, beginning in November 2024.

A key success has been involving student workers in the preventative maintenance process using the FMX mobile app. Billie highlights the QR code reading feature as the most significant impact on daily operations, allowing students to instantly scan equipment, view maintenance instructions, and log their work. Her top advice for others using FMX is to stick to the core principle: “Nothing gets done without a work order,” ensuring a clear, traceable history for all equipment maintenance.
